Help Me, Help You

Earlier this week I submitted a form in order to donate my car to Hurricane Katrina Relief fund. I don't really have a lot of money to give to the cause and it's definitely a cause that needs to be given to. That's when I decided that my car should go to a better cause.

The car is about 12 years old and has the mileage to go along with it. It is however a great little car. It is not a wreck. Its runs very well, the only thing that effects its performance is the battery. The car has been sitting for months and the battery needs to be charged. It really doesn't matter because even as scrap metal it would make a decent donation to the cause.

Unforunately for me and for the people who have already been through so much down south they didn't take it. They refused to accept my car for donation. The reason given was that the car was too old and had too many miles on it.

Why? That's their purpose. This is what they do. Now I can add them to the list of lazy people. They are right there with co-workers and fast food restaurant employees and Customer Support call centers employees. It's funny because it really doesn't effect me, since I'm not getting any money for it anyhow.

You know I try and try and try and get a lot of unnecessary hurdles from a lot of ignorant people. I'm just trying to help out why would someone want to stop that. I'm started to believe the trashy media now. Maybe, people out there are out to ruin the South somehow. How many different times have we heard about how slow it took to get aid to the disaster area. How many times have we heard of others getting blocked from helping out.

You know it's no wonder people don't like to help out in time of crisis. No one wants to make it easy for you. At work, our parent company instituted a matching donation plan where the company would donate equal to the some of all of its employee's donations. The procedure to make the donation was so overly complicated that some of my coworker gave up on trying to donate. I'm sure they put their money in some other way, but it was just rediculous.

Final Scream: WE'RE TRYING TO HELP! PLEASE LET US!!!
