Back to the Grind

Having Monday off is nice, but it just ruins my Tuesday. The 4-3 ratio is much more fair than the 5-2 week we currently have. What moron came up with this? It sure wasn't anyone who enjoyed weekends. It must have been Hitler. It's one thing to ask for a certain number of hours a week 40, 30, 20, whatever. Then, you also have to coordinate your hours with everyone else's. Just because you want to come a few hours here a few hours there over five days, doesn't mean anyone else does. I would much rather just go to work for 40 hours straight, it's less than 2 days. I would then sleep for the third day enjoy the other 4 with sleep here and there and then go back for 2 more the next week. It wouldn't have to be Monday and Tuesday, it could be any 2 days. If I wanted to, I could 80 in the same week and that would have me caught up for the next week and I just wouldn't come in that following week or whenever it suited me to take off. I also could build up as much of this work-ahead time as I want. Theorectically making it possible to finish my year early and take a couple of months off of work. In exchange for this schedule I would ask for no paid holiday, sick, or vacation time off. That means that I would actually work more per year than what the average worker works now. Does this not sound like a fair trade?
